cPanel/easyapache: virtual memory exhausted: Cannot allocate memory
I got the following error while trying to recompile PHP on cPanel with some extra extensions enabled, even though the server had enough free RAM.
virtual memory exhausted: Cannot allocate memory make: *** [ext/fileinfo/libmagic/apprentice.lo] Error 1 make: *** Waiting for unfinished jobs.... 'make -j2' failed with exit code '512'
The solution is to login to WHM and go to ‘tweak settings’, then search for ‘memory’. Set “Max cPanel process memory” to unlimited and save, then you should be able to run easyapache with no further memory issues. Remember to put the setting back to default once you are done. :)
